Arenado had over 30 family members in the stands to witness him put on a show and did they ever get to see a show as the Rockies banged out 19 hits, a new record for them at Dodger Stadium.

Colorado jumped all over the Dodgers from the get go as Dexter Fowler hit a homerun to lead off the ball game and the Rockies followed that up with single by Jordan Pacheco, a double by Carlos Gonzalez, and then a three run bomb by Wilin Rosario, giving the Rockies a 4-0 lead after one inning.

The Rockies continued to pile on the damage in the fourth inning when Chatwood tallied his third hit of the ball game with a 2-run single up the middle giving the Rockies a 8-0 lead at the time.

Colorado improved its record on the season to 16-10 overall and moved one game ahead of the Arizona Diamondbacks for the National League West Division lead. The Dodgers fell to 12-13 with the loss.

Colorado will be back at it again tomorrow against Los Angeles as the two square off in the second of a three game set at Dodger Stadium.  Jorge De La Rosa will be on the mound for the Rockies and the first pitch is set to be thrown at 8:10 MT.
